Position Function:

Plans, directs and coordinates strategy for the National Accounts organization.  This includes the sales management for our Overhead Door and Wayne Dalton commercial products including our sheet door business as well as construction management for large-scale and complex projects.  Leads the organization to be the single point of contact for our customers, leveraging our own channels and partners and creating new outsourced partnerships.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maximize existing account sales volume and develop new accounts.
  • Increase product penetration with existing National Account customers.
  • Add New National Account customers with written agreement and hard specification of Overhead Door/Wayne Dalton with National Accounts Contact Name and Phone Number listed in the specification.
  • Add New Account customers in the following segments: multi-unit retailers, automotive-related business, grocery chains, casual dining, and distribution centers.
  • Meets with key clients, assisting sales representatives and project managers with maintaining relationships including negotiating and closing contracts.
  • Approves proposals for key national account development and contract price negotiations with key National Account Managers, Regional and Project Managers.
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives and project managers.
  • National Account business leader with P&L responsibility.
  • Develops, proposes and implements Key National Account Sales and Marketing strategic sales plans to deliver division and corporate goals.
  • Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules and discount rates.
  • Provides coordination to fulfill contracts with high level of customer satisfaction. 
  • Maintains personal contact with major customers, distributors, engineering and architectural firms, where position status would be a principal factor in a relationship.
  • Monitors product, service, billing and delivery to ensure customer satisfaction.  Promptly address any problems with a defined corrective action plan.
  • Responsible for the development of National Account professional team and activities that influence performance of team members. Activities include: interviewing, hiring and training team employees; planning, assigning, and managing team work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving team issues.
  • Coordinate with other department leaders to ensure that customer requests and issues are handled in a timely and professional manner.
  • Oversee department performance and maintain continual internal and external reviews to ensure that all issues are resolved in accordance with company policies and procedures, customer requirements, and senior management’s direction.

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or equivalent
  • Master’s Degree a plus
  • Project Management Certification is preferred.
 Skills/Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 to 15 years of progressive sales experience and department management
  • Sales experience in the commercial building product industry required, with commercial door experience a plus
  • A proven leader with excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills that is effective at working with and influencing individual’s at all organizational levels; persuasive and empathetic; able to handle pressure and manage conflict.
  • Excellent selling, negotiation and customer service skills
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, planning and organizational skills
  • Self confident; self-directed; ability to communicate findings, make recommendations, and facilitate change
  • Must have the effective organizational development and management skills which are necessary for success.
  • Proficient in MS Office
