The Position

    

The Regional Safety Manager is responsible to provide functional coaching and direction to the NationServe Team.  This position serves as a Safety Business Partner to the VP, Operations and management teams of all NationServe locations.

Essential Duties

  • Develop and recommend practical and proactive safety programs
  • Executes all company-driven Safety policies and procedures and ensures NationServe is consistently aligned with Divisional and company-wide safety initiatives

  • Lead NationServe locations in both internal and external safety audits

  • Direct and monitor in-house training and orientation with managers and team members regarding key safety issues, while fostering a culture of continuous safety improvement

  • Work with the sales and operation teams to support customer safety requirements; including attending customer meetings and liaising with customer safety and project personnel as appropriate

  • Collaborate with field managers to investigate safety incidents, create corrective action plans and complete internal and external reporting requirements

  • Multi-unit professional comfortable supporting all NationServe locations as well as collaborating with other divisional safety leaders and programs

  • General familiarity with driver safety programs

  • Other responsibilities may be assigned, as warranted, to support achievement of division business goals 

 

Skills / Experience / Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive safety experience
  • Awareness and working knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations

  • Strong MS Office suite skills

  • Ability to travel up 25%

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills a must; the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts in a concise, simple and actionable manner to a wide variety of audiences up to executive levels

  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and has demonstrated success establishing systems and processes in a fast-paced, de-centralized, field-based environment

  • Professional, energetic self-starter who takes initiative, owns responsibilities and is adaptable to growing and changing environments

  • Establishes strong rapport and working relationships with the ability to negotiate, persuade, present and influence
