Role and Responsibilities

  • Supports manufacturing plant with quality assurance support to ensure product is built in accordance with customer and company specifications while maintaining smooth production flow.
  • Ensures that product quality is attained through fulfillment of workmanship standards and quality program requirements.
  • Identifies and reports quality problems.
  • Recommends and implements corrective action to quality problems.
  • Reviews all related quality documentation and approves as appropriate to ensure product quality.
  • Generates and implements defect-reduction activities.
  • Develop and drive quality objectives for the local manufacturing organization plus champion customer quality focus in activities with local Engineering and Manufacturing Teams.  
  • Effectively leverage business process understanding, customer data analysis, and quality engineering tools to influence and support business partners to drive quality improvements and achieve key business results.  
  • Supports manufacturing plant with quality assurance programs to ensure product is built in accordance with customer and company specifications while maintaining smooth production flow. 
  • Ensures that product quality is attained through fulfillment of workmanship standards and quality program requirements. 
  • Creates/reviews all related quality documentation and procedures to ensure product quality. Identifies, reports and leads corrective action activities to resolve quality problems. 
  • Generates and implements defect-reduction activities.  
  • Provides daily leadership and direction to quality auditors.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lead continuous improvement project.

  • Ability to facilitate Kaizen events.

  • Possess a Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of quality engineering is required; greater than 5 years industrial experience in which candidate had responsibility for the development and implementation of product and/or process quality is preferred.    Experience in process engineering is preferred.

  • CQE, CQM and/or certified BlackBelt in Lean or Six Sigma is preferred. 

  • Expertise in ISO/QS/TS type quality systems is preferred. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Candidate must be able to influence team dynamics regarding quality goals, deliver constructive feedback and provide quality leadership in a cross functional environment.

  • Experience with Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Supplier qualification processes including PPAP reviews,  8D corrective action methods, Basic and Intermediate Statistical Analysis, Six Sigma and Lean Methods, plus ability to read/analyze engineering drawings.

  • Proficiency with Excel, Minitab, Access and Powerpoint.

Education

  • BS degree or 10 years of Quality Engineering experience.
