Creative Door Services, North America’s largest overhead door dealer, operates nine branches across Western Canada and we have over 50 years of experience in the residential and commercial overhead door industry.  We provide access solutions by servicing and installing a variety of overhead doors and driveway gate systems, operators and associated controls. 

Role:
We have an immediate opening for an Outside Sales Representative located in the Calgary Branch. Reporting to the Branch Manager, this position provides clients with outstanding customer service and support in the territory. This role is a permanent, full time position.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Inside Sales team to provide accurate quotations for commercial and residential doors
  • Provide customer service, contract negotiation, document control and contract administration
  • Provide product knowledge and assist customers with selection of proper products for projects
  • Ensure accuracy and timely entry of quotations into our order entry system
  • Communicate quotes to customers
  • Ensure all quotes and bids adhere to gross margin expectations for the division
  • Review contracts for accuracy and resolves any discrepancies
  • Communicate with Finance to verify credit has been established
  • Maintain contact with customers via email, phone calls and visit
  • Consistently follow up with customers to ensure they are aware of order status and timelines
  • Travel to site to meet with customers and decision makers to nurture profitable relationships
  • Continue to call potential customers who do not deal with CDS to let them know we want their business
  • Receive purchase orders from customers and correctly enter into system
  • Convert quotes in the system to work orders
  • Actively seek additional product and industry knowledge and contacts
  • Deal with warranty issues in timely manner and ensure the customers are satisfied
  • Proactively support the CDS safety program and initiatives, comply with all safety policies and procedures and ensure utilization of safe work practices while on site and in the office
  • Other duties, as assigned
Skills:
  • Product knowledge of construction and overhead doors would be strong asset
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills
  • Good negotiation skills and persuasive ability
  • Project management experience would be an asset
  • Aptitude for building and maintaining an active customer base
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as margin, mark up, discounts, percentages, interest
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Willing to learn and able to adapt quickly to new computer systems and processes
Qualifications:
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and the ability to adapt quickly to computer software programs
  • 1 - 3 years of previous sales experience in the construction industry is an asset
  • Product knowledge of overhead doors is preferred
  • Minimum six months of relevant work experience working in a service role
