The Position

Operate and maintain a variety of tools and machines to ship, receive, store, issue and deliver a variety of materials, equipment and supplies. 
Identify equipment malfunctions and take appropriate corrective action. 
Read and work from blueprints and/or sketches to determine raw material, dimensions, and layout of parts. Inspect materials prior to operations.   Monitor quality of own work, and work of upstream operations, during fabrication and before moving to next operation. Count, load, and move processed parts utilizing carts and baskets. 

Responsibilities

  • Counts weighs, or measure incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
  • Review inventory for production and restock material if necessary. 
  • Prepares material for shipment; weighs and stamps packages.
  • Assembles appropriate containers and inserts materials into container using spacers, fillers or other protective material, binds container closed using appropriate method, marks container with identifying information or shipping instructions.
  • Assists in loading and unloading of trucks.
  • Distributes or delivers incoming items to appropriate department or stores items in stockroom.
  • Operates material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, dollies and other related equipment.
  • Participates in routine, periodic inventories, counting and recording stock items.
  • Tags new stock with identifying information.
  • Manage Oracle transactions including data input and data collection.
  • Signs for incoming shipments as receiver.
  • Fills orders and issues materials and supplies per request; documents transactions according to established procedure.
  • Utilizes computerized or automated systems to accomplish tasks.
  • Perform work within precision standard of quality, which must fall within the stipulated specifications with a minimum of rework.
  • Maintain accurate productivity, safety, quality, inventory, and time management logs.
  • Perform work within the safety guidelines outlined, and utilize all supplied safety equipment including personal protective equipment.
  • Participate in the training of other employees as assigned by a team leader.
  • Be available for procedure inquires from other employees. 
  • Actively participate in the development and quality control of the department.
  • Support the performance of the total plant(s) and actively support other manufacturing areas other than their assigned team, flow line, or machining cell when necessary.
  • Work within Company guidelines and work rules.
  • Support and abide by reasonable standards of conduct and attendance policies and respect the individual rights of others.
  • Cooperatively indexing and flexing to other work stations or manufacturing areas as needed to achieve shift targets, team goals, and an even flow of operations and achieve shift target or team goals. 
  • Follows the scheduled sequence of production operations.
  • Other duties as assigned, including additional duties as a result of the elimination or reclassification of job duties as a result of a new operation methods.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Comprehend written and verbal instructions
  • Computer literate
  • Communicate using good oral and written skills

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


Frequently lifts items weighting up to 70 pounds.  Anything over 70 pounds may require assistance.
