The Manager, Product Configuration is responsible for managing the day to day activities involving configuration and engineering systems.  Manage and provide direction to a team of configuration rule-writers, technical analysts and data analysts.  Participate in a cross-functional Team that owns the action plan to deliver new commercial vehicular access doors.

This position can reside in our corporate offices in Lewisville, TX or at our largest plant in Mt. Hope, OH.  We do not have relocation dollars for this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Capable to develop new product configuration or make changes to existing product configuration based on inputs from product engineering, data analyst, IT, manufacturing, product management and pricing.
  • Capable of reading engineering documentation or drawing and translate that to data for Infor configuration.
  • Working knowledge of
    • Item Master, Bill of Material, Routing Systems.
    • Oracle master data management.
    • Integration with Drawing systems (AutoCAD or SolidWorks).
  • Capable to develop quantitative cost/benefit analysis to measure product development effectiveness or process improvement effectiveness.
  • Thorough understanding of problem-solving techniques by pulling together data, ideas, issues and observations into a clear and useful format, by utilizing analytical techniques.
  • Capable to lead a team Data Analyst, and Technical Analyst.
  • Scheduling, coordinating and directing work assignments for completing Engineering Systems Documentation by the PCSM Systems Analysts (4 analysts and 1 contractor).
  • Consults with Engineering, Mnaufacturing, marketing and Customer SErvice to ensure quality and accuracy of Engineering Systems documentation.   
  • Completion of Engineering Systems documentation in preparation of rule writing activities
  • Auditing of rule writing work in preparation for moving completed product configuration projects to Production.
  • Coordination of plant auditing and testing activities for production configuration projects.
  • Implement and execute documentation version control process.
  • Maintain and report Product Configuration project status to the Product Engineering Management team.

Skills/Experience Requirements

  • Must have thorough knowledge of Product Configuration systems. 5 to 10 years experiences with configuration systems, preferably SAP, Oracle or Infor.
  • 10+ years experiences in door or related industry with focus in product configuration.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering and product development principles and practices.
  • Computer literate in MS Office products.
  • Good written and oral presentation skills – for both internal groups as well as clients and trade groups/ seminars. Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Action and results oriented.
  • 20% anticipated travel.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in information system or information technology or engineering
