Position Function:

The staff auditor will perform audit program activities and draft written observations and recommendations.  The auditor will also support the company’s compliance with Japanese SOX. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Audit the accounting processes and financial data of various business units to ensure compliance with company policies, best practices and US GAAP. 
  • Audit the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls.  
  • Perform operational and procedural reviews, including inventory observations.  
  • Assist management in documenting controls, as well as perform walkthroughs and test controls in accordance with Japanese SOX requirements.
  • Identify best practices and recommend operational improvements.
  • Seek consistency in the business across various locations, especially for functions supported by shared services.
  • Conduct follow up reviews to assess progress against recommendations and help management take steps to for continual improvement.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Position requires up to 50% out of town travel.
  • Will have opportunities to learn other areas of the company by participating in projects and assisting Accounting, Finance and IT teams.





Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-3 years prior audit experience necessary.  Public accounting experience helpful, must have strong business sense, be self-directed and self-motivated.  Individual should be inquisitive, intuitive and should have above average computer/financial systems aptitude. 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to work effectively with all levels of management.  Manufacturing, retail, and/or multi-site industry experience preferred.

Education Requirements:

  • Requires BBA in Accounting or equivalent, and a Master’s degree is desirable.  
  • CPA (or CPA candidate), CIA, CISA or CFE is preferred.
