The Position
Responsible for multiple tasks involving the take down of used residential doors and/or equipment, installation of new residential doors, operators, equipment and multiple service categories on doors, operators and associated equipment.
        
Your Responsibilities
•    Evaluate appropriate installation / service requirements, tools and equipment for each job.
•    Service and/or install residential garage doors using appropriate tools, hardware and equipment.  Additionally, perform residential service / installation on a wide range of products, including hinges, operators and door sections.
•    Determine if added work needs to be performed and the measures needed to assure approved installation of product.  Alterations, construction modifications and obstructions must be noted before each job is to begin.
•    Perform related minor work in framing, build in's and adjustments.
•    Maintain appropriate parts inventory in the vehicle to ensure that items are available for service / installation work.

*Hiring Bonus consists of the following criteria:
• $1000 paid after reaching 30 days of employment
• $1000 paid after reaching 90 days of employment
• $1000 paid after reaching 6 months of employment
• If hired candidate does not complete 1 year of employment with Overhead Door Corporation, company reserves the right to require employee pay back a prorated amount of the Hiring Bonus.

- Must have previous verifyable garage door installation experience in order to qualify for the Hiring Bonus.

**Average compensation based on 2020 per hour averages of our entire Piece Rate Garage Door Installer population.  New team members are paid a base hourly rate for training and any work-related activities not related to travelling to and performing installations at job sites.   

Qualifications 

  • At least 1-year related installation or construction experience
  • Excellent telephone, written and verbal communication skills while interfacing with all levels of staff and customers.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Basic math skills required.  Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and convert nominal measurements
  • Willingness to learn product and processes.
  • Must have valid DL

Education

  •  High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to work in all outside weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Repetitive standing, lifting, reaching, bending, climbing & kneeling
  • Comfortable with working on ladders and/or scissor lifts at varying heights
