NationServe has an immediate opening for Commercial Helper:

The Position

You will be Responsible for multiple tasks involving the takedown of used commercial doors and/or equipment, installation and/or service of new commercial doors, operators, equipment, and multiple service categories on doors, operators, and associated equipment Other duties may be assigned. 

Responsibilities

Observe the work of the Lead Commercial Installer and assist him/her with the following:

  • Evaluate appropriate commercial door and installation requirements for each job. 
  • Prior to the commencement of work, determine if appropriate tools and equipment are working and/or available.
  • Establish the needs of each job and document the full installation/services needed. Determine if added work needs to be performed and the measures needed to assure the approved installation of the product. Alterations, construction modifications, and obstructions must be noted before each job is to begin. 
  • Documentation of the work to be performed is discussed with the Lead Installer, Estimator, and/or Scheduler for approval. 
  • Perform related minor work in framing, build ins, and adjustments. Install commercial garage doors using appropriate tools, hardware, and equipment. 
  • Install manufactured commercial garage door operators. Perform commercial installation/service on a wide range of products, including hinges, operators, door sections, rolling steel, torsion springs, dock equipment, locks, etc. Care and maintenance of equipment and tools provided by NationServe of Tempe. 
  • Care and maintenance of vehicles provided by NationServe of Tempe.
  • Maintain appropriate parts inventory in the vehicle to ensure that items are available for installation work. 

Other Responsibilities

  • Represent Wayne Dalton Sales and Service with customers and present themselves in a professional demeanor.
  • Provide explanation of the work to be performed and work finished. Description of operating functions, safety systems, operator controls, and proper customer maintenance is required. 
  • Upon completion of each installation, clean work area and discard trash in appropriate containers or deliver such trash to designated drop sites. 
  • Communicate regarding job progress, time of completion, and additional work that needs to be performed. 
  • Comfortable working in heights up to 30 ft

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

Qualifications
  • Three to six months of related installation or construction experience is preferred.
  • Ability to comfortably lift up to 75 pounds
Education
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
