Position Function:

Responsible for the selling, merchandising and promoting Genie / Wayne-Dalton products both directly and through company merchandising representatives and manufacturer representative organizations to the following channels:
  • Chain Home Centers / Farm & Fleet, and/or
  • Lumber & Builder Materials / Wholesale Clubs, and/or
  • Hardware Co-Ops & Distributors / On-Line & Specialty Retailers, and/or
  • Canadian Retail, and/or
  • Ecommerce customers
Ideally this person will be located in the greater Chicago area.  There are no relocation dollars available with this position.

  • Develop, maintain and manage key retail accounts
  • Responsible for the entire sales process including, but not limited to, maintaining an open dialog with customers to insure Genie's interests are well managed throughout the sales process
  • Design and implement profit-driven sales programs
  • Responsible for developing fact-based category planograms, in-store merchandising plans, trade marketing programs, and advertising calendars
  • Develop, review and communicate accurate monthly forecasting to the company that is fact and insight driven
  • Deliver sales presentations to retail customers and Genie Senior Management Team
  • Responsible for developing and managing a strategic business plan for each customer
  • Responsible for the identification and development of new retail accounts
  • Problem solving with customers to provide win / win solutions
  • At least five years of experience in National Account Sales Management
  • Experience managing large complex customers
  • Working knowledge of category marketing, trade marketing and financial management
  • Strong analytical skills. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication and computer skills
  • Comfortable and experienced working at multiple levels within an account(s)
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Major consumer products experience, such as power tools
  • Experience with a winning brand preferred
  • Experience with customers, such as Lowe's, Home Depot, Menards, Ace Hardware, Lumber Yards, Sears and Costco a definite plus
  • A degree in business, marketing or related area
Work Requirements
  • Typical home / office environment 
  • Ability to travel 35-50% of the time
  • Able to set-up and work customer trade shows
  • Able to work in customer retail locations as needed
